Competitive pay rates with the benefit of Not-for-Profit salary sacrifice options to take home more Part time role, working 38 hours per fortnight Opportunity to join a supportive purpose driven organisation Great staff culture Ongoing individualised training Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families and support programs like Thrive (access 50% of your earned wages early) About the role Reporting to the Residential Manager, working as a Gardener/Maintenance Officer, in this role you will provide general maintenance and basic caretaker support to the Home You will also need to ensure the gardens and grounds are established and maintained to beautify the site and equipment is maintained in optimal condition with a focus on preventative maintenance of all required services and resources. Some responsibilities of the role may include but not be limited to: Horticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring. Garden beds maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions. Pruning of trees and shrubs. Lawn mowing, edging, fertilising and weeding. Clearing and removal of garden refuse. Ensuring that paths, drains and edges are maintained and kept free of debris. Maintaining fences and retaining walls in good repair. Undertaking of routine repair work and maintenance abound the Home. Ensuring gardening machinery/equipment (eg. mowers) remain safe and are serviced as per schedules according to manufacturers’ recommendations. Repair of machinery and equipment and maintained within scope of competence or referring to an approved service centre in consultation with the Residential Manager. Engagement and supervision of any contractors required to any work onsite. What will you bring to the role? Maintenance and/or Trade qualification (highly desirable) Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardening Demonstrated ability to work from manuals and drawings Exceptional people and interpersonal skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively Strong problems solving ability and decision-making skills We are looking for a candidate who is able to demonstrate our vision statement of "Valuing and respecting Human Life".
