A newly created position exists at QSL’s busy Mackay Sugar Terminal. Focussed on formulating maintenance planning and scheduling strategies and overseeing the coordination and monitoring of maintenance activities for all plant equipment. This position is accountable for the execution, development, and compliance within the QSL Work Management system, which will see the planning and scheduling of work activities for inclusion in the weekly work plans. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, key deliverables include Work Management and Planning of approved work orders in consultation with key stakeholders. Planning of work orders in the CMMS, including all labour, materials and equipment required. Development of planned work orders for the weekly work schedule while maintaining a 12-week planning window Raising POs for planned work following procurement policies Drive and streamline operational efficiencies through systems enhancement, people training and process reviews. Facilitate weekly scheduling meetings with Supervisors and trades and proactively consult to prioritise rescheduling requirements of incomplete or outstanding work orders. Drive KPI reviews against the previous week's performance to highlight key areas for improvement. To be considered for this exceptional role you will have; A trade qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical discipline is highly advantageous. Additional qualifications in Maintenance Management will be highly regarded. Experience planning and scheduling within a heavy industry, high-risk environments, and fixed plant operational or maintenance knowledge will support your success in role. Strong proficiency in maintenance work management systems, such as MEX or other large ERPs. A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for using data to drive operational excellence and better maintenance performance. Committed to continuous improvement processes and change management. Able to achieve outcomes through coaching and mentoring of the maintenance and operational teams. Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to engage well with internal and external stakeholders. High emotional intelligence with a forward-thinking problem-solving lens.
