This position is central to maintaining the safety and security of the building by monitoring security systems, coordinating responses, and escalating incidents as required. Your primary focus will be on real-time threat detection, incident investigation, and effective communication with on-site teams and emergency services. You will act as the command point for all security operations, ensuring both physical assets and personnel are protected through prompt and professional response. Key Responsibilities As a Control Room Operator, your core duties will include: • Monitoring CCTV systems to detect and respond to incidents in real time. • Coordinating emergency responses, liaising with on-site personnel and emergency services. • Operating and overseeing integrated security systems such as access control, alarm systems, and building management systems. • Logging all incidents and activities, ensuring accurate and detailed record-keeping. • Managing communication networks, including maintaining the security radio system with clarity and professionalism. • Overseeing access control and ensuring only authorised personnel enter secure areas. • Responding to alarms and triggering appropriate security and safety protocols. • Providing real-time situation reports to management and stakeholders. • Ensuring compliance with all operational security procedures. • Supporting incident investigations through retrieval and provision of surveillance footage. Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will possess: • Current VIC Private Security Individual Licence, with Control Room Operator (Required) • Current First Aid and CPR certifications (Required) • Working with Children Check (Required) • Police Check (Required) • Minimum 1 year Control Room Experience (Required) • Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure. • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced, high-security environment. • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team. • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with incident reporting systems.
