This is a hybrid position with 3 days/week in the Brisbane office and the option to work from home 2 days/week. As a Process/Alarms Solutions and Migration Lead, you are responsible for overseeing the Central SCADA system's alarm philosophy and standards, in compliance with ISA 18.2 lifecycle requirements. Your role involves developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Master Alarm Database, ensuring it aligns with operational standards and enhances system reliability and safety. You will interface with existing systems, design compliant solutions, and oversee the migration process to Central SCADA, ensuring data integrity and optimization of alarm management practices. Key Areas of Responsibility Owner of Alarm philosophy and standards (ISA 18.2) Develop and maintain the Master Alarm Database Conduct alarm rationalisation to ensure that alarms are meaningful, actionable, and prioritised based on their impact on operations. Regular review of the Alarm Journals to continuously manage the bad actor alarms and keep the alarm frequencies within Human Factor comprehension. Raise Work Orders for Operations to address specific bad actor alarms. Design interface between existing non-compliant systems and Central SCADA Key role in ensuring each site's data can fit into new standards and create the mapping Identify how to improve alarms per site prior to Central SCADA migration Develop the Cause and Response meta data to populate the alarms in the Central SCADA Provide training and support to operations and asset maintenance personnel on alarm management practices and the use of the Master Alarm Database Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors In addition to the duties set out above, you may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company Person Specification Basic understanding of performance and security implications related to Ignition Central SCADA modifications. Willingness to learn and apply risk management practices to control risks to ALARP. Analytical skills to assess alarm data and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement Have the ability to: Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in alarm configuration and documentation Good written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail Ability to confidently present to both technical and business audiences Motivation and high personal work standards to achieve Company and team objectives Ability to organise, develop and work with multi-disciplinary teams; and Willingness to work flexibly, to undertake interstate and overseas trips as necessary and to work out of hours as and when reasonably required Collaborate with stakeholders such as Information Technology group, Engineering, Operations, Global Control Centre, Operational Technology and Analytics in the development of alarms and responses for the Ignition Central SCADA platform Build positive work relationships Apply pragmatism in the assessment of risk; and Work in a dynamic, changeable environment, including management of conflicting priorities in high pressure situations Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 Years Experience: Experience in process and alarms development, preferably in a heavy industry, process plants, power generation facilities, or similar environments. Candidates with less experience but strong foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply 2. Industry Standards Expertise: Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA 18.2 is preferred but not mandatory. Training will be provided and there are existing company standards to follow. Have a broad understanding of different equipment and can discern and create alarms that are pre-emptive in nature to allow intervention before and outage to trip occurs. Demonstrates a commitment to staying updated with the latest alarm management standards, tools, and best practices. 3. Communication Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 4. Collaborative Approach: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, Engineering, and Operations personnel. 5. Certifications: Relevant certifications are highly desirable but not required.
