We operate across two purpose built and accredited sites in Sydney, offering over 20 specialty skin clinics and access to over 50 dermatologists. As a registered education institution, we estimate that over 95% of NSW dermatologists have spent time training with us, and we currently train more dermatologists than any other institution in Australia. About the role: This role is primarily based in Darlinghurst with occasional travel to our Westmead facility. As a Mohs Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing and processing skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Mohs surgeon. Your expertise in histology and commitment to precision will contribute directly to the accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of treatment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare tissue specimens by accurately processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for immediate examination. Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in specimen preparation. Adhere to laboratory protocols, infection control standards, and quality control systems. Ensure accurate documentation and labelling of all samples and slides. Assist in clinical stock management, ordering, and inventory control. Support other clinical and administrative duties as directed by the surgical team or supervisor. Qualifications: Certification or formal training in histotechnology or Mohs technician procedures preferred. Previous experience in a histology lab or Mohs surgery setting highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. We are looking for an experienced, qualified part-time Technical Officer or Scientific Officer to support Moh’s micrographic surgery within our new Day Surgery. Experience in cryostat frozen sectioning techniques is essential, however the right combination of general anatomical pathology experience, skills, personality and reliability is sought. Interested?
