ConsultANZ is looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join a leading construction company in Sydney on a permanent basis. This critical role supports site teams by ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental standards while fostering a strong safety-first culture. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and company procedures. Review and enhance HSE protocols to align with industry best practices. Provide expert advice on injury prevention, health programs, and environmental protection. Assess and monitor subcontractor safety performance and systems. Implement and manage on-site safety programs and campaigns. Conduct regular inspections to identify risks and enforce safe practices. Support the development of risk assessments, SWMS, and hazard control measures. Assist with incident investigations and accurate reporting. Prepare emergency response procedures tailored to each project. Deliver practical HSEQ feedback and improvement suggestions. Report all incidents to the HSE Manager within 30 minutes. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and liaise with external regulators as needed. Requirements Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a dedicated HSE role. Experience within civil construction or mining sectors preferred. Proficiency with ICAMS or similar safety management systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. High attention to detail with strong organizational capabilities. Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
