The Role Toll Group is seeking a skilled an experienced IT Security Architect to join our team in Melbourne. The Strategic IT Security Architect is responsible for developing and enforcing security principles, patterns, and reference architectures to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to integrate security into solution designs, assess new technologies for risks, conduct threat modelling, define security requirements, guide secure cloud configurations, drive remediation strategies, and contribute to security policies and procedures. As the IT Security Architect, you will: Security Architecture & Standards - Develop and enforce security principles, patterns, and reference architectures aligned with standards like ISO 27001 and NIST; contribute to security policies and procedures with GRC and Cyber Security teams. Collaboration & Integration - Work closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to embed security into the design phase of solutions. Technology Evaluation & Risk Management - Assess new technologies and third-party services for security risks, conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews. Security Requirements Definition - Define and communicate requirements for identity and access management, encryption, secure coding, and data protection. Cloud & SaaS Security - Guide secure configuration and deployment of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and SaaS solutions. Vulnerability Management & Expertise - Drive remediation of security vulnerabilities and serve as a subject matter expert during RFPs, design reviews, and incident response planning. What We’re Looking For If you are a proactive and experienced professional with a passion for ensuring service excellence, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity at Toll Group. Qualifications Undergraduate Degree in IT or related field. A Masters Degree would be well regarded Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, or CCSP are highly desirable. Skills and Experience 8 years in information security, with at least 3 years in a solution or security architecture role. Strong knowledge of modern enterprise architecture, cloud security, zero trust, network security, and identity management. Hands-on experience with security controls in Azure, AWS, or GCP environments. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, secure SDLC, and automation tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaC). Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical audiences. Capacity to evaluate technologies, assess security risks, and provide strategic guidance for secure configurations and deployments. Experience in contributing to security policies, guiding security decisions in RFPs, and supporting incident response planning. What moves you?
