About the Role The Clinical Nurse – PACU provides high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgery. The role involves the assessment, monitoring, and management of patients in the immediate postoperative period, ensuring safe recovery and responding promptly to any complications. The Clinical Nurse also plays a leadership role within the team, supporting best practice standards and mentoring less experienced staff. Requirements of the Role Essential: · Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA). · Minimum three (3) years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably in PACU, ICU, or ED · Advanced clinical assessment skills, particularly related to airway management, cardiovascular monitoring, and pain management. · Proven ability to respond to emergencies and critical incidents effectively. · Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a dedication to professional standards. · Proficient in: Problem solving and analytical abilities. Organisational skills. Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. · Recognises that additional duties and responsibilities may be required occasionally, beyond those outlined in this document. You will be required to have or able to obtain: · Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA). · Verification of eligibility to work in Australia. · Identification check validation. · Police check clearance. · Working with Children (WWC) check. Desirable: · Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing, Critical Care, or related field. · Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification. · Experience in mentoring or preceptoring nursing staff.
