Skilled Trades Assistant – Aviation Fuel Tanker Assembly Location: Sunshine West, Melbourne, VIC Hourly Rate: $42.50 Super Overtime Travel Allowance: $27/day Payment Frequency: Weekly About the Role Our client, a leading Australian manufacturer of aviation fuel tanks and trailers, is seeking experienced Trades Assistants to join their workshop team. This role focuses on assembling and fitting new aviation fuel tanker equipment, including installing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Assist in the installation of electrical components and pump systems Work with hydraulic and pneumatic parts Support various stages of the build process to ensure high-quality production. Operate power tools safely. Collaborate with tradespeople, including Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers Requirements Proven experience as a Trades Assistant or in a similar fitting role Proficiency in installing trailer accessories Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ability to work effectively under supervision Strong attention to detail Desirable Skills Safe operation of power tools Experience assisting tradespeople, especially Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers Ability to prioritise tasks and work unsupervised Mechanical aptitude Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics Good working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices To Be Considered Provide references from two past employers Be based in Melbourne, Victoria Have the right to work in Australia Please note that only successful applicants will be contacted.
