On behalf of HRT Electrics, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technical Officer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications networks and systems, with a particular emphasis on NBN technologies, optical fibre cabling, and other telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires a practical and technical understanding of telecommunications systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and a high standard of workmanship. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Install, test, commission, and maintain telecommunications and data transmission systems. Perform fault diagnosis and repair of copper, fibre, and wireless systems. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and network plans. Use specialised testing equipment and software to monitor network performance and ensure compliance with industry standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate project completion. Maintain records of work activities, including service logs, reports, and inventory management. Adhere to WHS regulations, company safety procedures, and quality assurance policies. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; or 3 years equivalent of industry experience. Proven 1 year of hands-on experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance. Strong knowledge of fibre optic splicing, testing (OTDR, power meter), and copper pair testing. Familiarity with NBN technologies, standards, and deployment procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical plans and network documentation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $73,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
