About the Role As the Financial Controller at Unicrest Group, you’ll step into a key leadership role that underpins the financial health and operational success of the business. This is a hands-on position where you’ll oversee core financial processes across the Group’s entities—from managing cash flow and financial reporting to ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting strategic decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with the Finance/Admin Manager and wider leadership team to deliver accurate and timely financial insights, guide budgeting and forecasting, and maintain robust internal controls. Whether it's preparing consolidated accounts, liaising with external advisors, or enhancing financial systems, your work will play a critical role in supporting Unicrest’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations: Oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for all group entities Prepare consolidated management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax legislation, and audit requirements Liaise with external advisors, including auditors, tax consultants, and banks Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with statutory obligations Business Support and Analysis: Conduct margin, inventory, and cost analysis to support operational performance Provide financial insights to aid in pricing, project costing, and commercial decisions Support the Finance Manager and senior management with financial planning and analysis Systems and Controls: Maintain and enhance internal financial controls and documentation Drive efficiency through continuous improvement of financial processes and systems Support the development and implementation of ERP and related financial systems What You’ll Bring Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance or accounting, with end-to-end accounting knowledge Strong finance mindset and practical “get stuff done” attitude Experience in managing daily finance operations such as invoicing, bank reconciliations, coding receipts, and GST returns Some leadership experience is a plus (ability to support and possibly lead others) Proficient in Excel (at least intermediate level) and comfortable with financial systems like Intuit and Business Central Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make decisions without constant supervision Calm, relaxed, and collected approach to work, with a good sense of humour Strong communication skills, including sending daily updates to sales teams and coordinating across departments Willingness to participate in daily finance huddles and weekly team meetings Able to handle errors and problem-solve within financial platforms and processes Why Join Unicrest?
