About J2SI Journey to Social Inclusion (J2SI) is a ground-breaking, evidence-based program that goes beyond temporary solutions to address the root causes of chronic homelessness. Backed by a powerful consortium of social service leaders and the Victorian Government’s Early Intervention Investment Fund, we provide up to three years of intensive, person-centered support. About The Role As a Workforce Participant Worker, you’ll walk alongside people who’ve experienced long-term homelessness as they work to reclaim their identity, stability, and place in the workforce and community. This role works in an individual outreach capacity. Your mission is to Support individuals to achieve their employment, volunteering, training, and education goals Provide tailored mentoring and outreach-based support Work closely with J2SI Intensive Case Managers to remove barriers and open new doors Champion economic inclusion by building relationships with employers, training providers, and job agencies Design and deliver group-based activities and one-on-one interventions that build confidence, skills, and readiness for work This role doesn’t just support people to get a job. It supports them to believe in what’s possible. This position is a permanent part-time position, 22.8 hours per week, based in Geelong, VIC. What You Will Bring Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or similar are highly valued. Relevant experience will also be considered A heart for social justice, and a belief in everyone’s right to meaningful inclusion Experience in employment support, mentoring, education or community development Understanding of trauma-informed care (or willingness to learn) Strong communication, collaboration, and outreach skills.
