In this role, you'll: Work as a Scientific Officer as part of the Technical, Design and Engineering branch of Transport for NSW's Infrastructure Projects and Engineering Division. Provide investigations, analyses, interpretations, and advice for geotechnical, pavements and materials aspects related to transport infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance to support the development and delivery of transport infrastructure projects. You will be reporting to the Pavements and Geotechnical Manager to provide technical support and advice to various internal/external partners (development, design and delivery) encompassing the whole project lifecycle.You will be adaptable and flexible as the role is matrixed across multiple work streams. This role can be based at Parkes, Orange, Lithgow, Dubbo or similar regional office; you will be expected to be in the office two to three days per week on average. You will be required to undertake fieldwork as part of this role and must be willing to travel as necessary. About you You have a Bachelor of Science degree in geology or related science/engineering discipline; possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver’s licence and have a willingness to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion. You will have a demonstrated track record of delivering geotechnical, materials, and/or pavements services to clients and management of technical risk in infrastructure projects, capable of leading geotechnical investigations in diverse terrain and weather conditions, working effectively in multidisciplinary teams. You are a self-starter, an autonomous operator, who proactively takes the initiative to establish effective relationships and solve problems. You possess strong communication skills and attention to detail and able to manage multiple cross-functional priorities with conflicting deadlines.Proficient multitasking, organisational, teamwork and planning skills are crucial.
