About The Role: This role is based in Tamworth, New South Wales. Are you an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving problems, implementing new technologies, and supporting business-critical systems? Challenge Community Services is looking for a Senior Technology Support Officer to join our dynamic and collaborative IT team. In this senior position, you will assist the Head of IT Services by providing technical and systems support across the organisation. This includes maintaining the effective operation of computer hardware, software, communication systems, and user management, while also contributing to the administration of a variety of IT systems. You’ll play a key role in researching and implementing new technologies to improve processes, solve business challenges, and enhance system efficiency. Your contributions will support our cyber security strategy, incident response planning, and system documentation efforts. As part of a small, hands-on team, you’ll also provide frontline support to staff, perform helpdesk duties, manage IT purchasing, and contribute to internal projects. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required. About you: We are looking for someone who is an analytical problem-solver with a strong technical background and a keen eye for process improvement. The position requires someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. A proactive mindset is essential, particularly in implementing secure and reliable IT solutions. Strong communication skills are also key, as the role involves translating complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience. A genuine commitment to supporting staff across the organisation is central to success in this position. Essential: Certificate IV in Information Technology or higher, or relevant extensive experience in an IT environment Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Windows, Server, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, cybersecurity tools, networking, and applications such as InTune, Sentinel, Defender, and PowerShell Experience with IT asset management Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management and organisational skills Experience working on projects as both a team member and team lead Ability to prioritise, problem solve, and visualise workflows and processes Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required Current NSW Driver’s Licence Desirable: Experience retrieving data using tools such as SQL or Power BI Microsoft certifications in server or cloud technologies Experience with low-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform Why You’ll Love Working with Us: Competitive Pay Rates : Reflective of your qualifications and experience.
