Firbank Grammar School is seeking a friendly, proficient and approachable Receptionist to work alongside our existing morning Receptionist at our Brighton Senior School Campus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff. Hours of work: This is a part-time, term-time only position, operating Monday to Friday 12pm - 5pm ( 0.54FTE ). This position works in conjunction with our morning Receptionist and includes a daily handover. Base Salary: $65k (Full-time equivalent). Key Responsibilities: Front of House & Visitor Reception: Manage the School’s Reception area to ensure a welcoming, professional environment. Provide exemplary customer service when greeting visitors, managing enquiries and screening guests. Handle calls and voicemails, and oversee mail, deliveries, and bookings. Administer student sign-in/out and absences in line with School policies. Administration: Provide general administrative support across various departments including Admissions, Finance, and People & Culture. Duties include maintaining records, managing stationery supplies, and performing tasks such as printing and laminating. Communication: Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and the School community. Handle all correspondence professionally and confidentially, direct enquiries appropriately, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner. Skills and Attributes: 3-5 years reception and/or customer service experience, preferably in an educational setting. Experience using Synergetic is a plus, but not mandatory. High level computer and systems competencies, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Strong organisational, time management and multitasking abilities with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. High level problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated initiative and flexibility. Extremely high standard of personal ethics and good character. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work independently, as well as working collaboratively in a team. High standard of personal presentation. Ability to develop, build and nurture relationships. Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Be accessible and approachable for both staff and students. Qualifications: Current WWCC (employee). First Aid and CPR Certificates.
