The Role The Centre Manager will build their team by leading them to deliver an exceptional customer experience at this exciting facility. Responsible for managing the facility, the team, and engaging with the local community, you will be fully accountable for the Centre’s operational, financial, and program deliverables. Key Accountabilities Ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and employees through effective planning and oversight of policies, processes, and procedures. Coach and develop leaders to meet KPIs through engagement, performance planning, and individual development plans. Lead and foster a high-performance, community-minded culture through visible and hands-on leadership and team engagement. Achieve budgeted performance targets. Maintain a high-value relationship with our council partner. Implement a customer service approach that addresses the needs of our clients. Recruit energetic, diverse, and passionate employees to complement the team and vision for the Centre. Train staff to ensure knowledge and capabilities meet the required standards. Identify staff potential and develop career progression paths for transparent succession planning. Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements. Essential Skills and Qualifications At least 2 years’ experience managing a similar leisure or aquatic facility. Excellent communication skills with a positive influencing and negotiating ability. Knowledge of health and safety legislation. Experience in planning and executing operational, financial, and people strategies. Working with Children Check. Current CPR, First Aid (Level 2), Pool Lifeguard, and Pool Operations Certificates. Legal working rights in New Zealand. Minimum 3 years’ experience in aquatic operations.
