ConsultANZ is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Top-Tier client's team in Sydney. The client, involved in joint ventures overseeing significant projects such as road maintenance, traffic management, and bridges, is in need of a committed Health & Safety Manager. This role involves permanent engagement and an opportunity to contribute to the project's overall health and safety management. Main Duties Your responsibilities include such as but not limited to: Continued management and revision of WHS policy, management plans, systems and procedures. Ensure the TRA, SWMS and Safe Work Instruction are all in line with legislative requirements. Manage and report on safety performance in-line with Project WHS management systems. Provide advice, interpretation, and guidance to Management on statutory requirements and best practice developments within the OH&S sector. Identifying risk areas through trend analysing and adequately implement proactive controls and target audits to manage potential risks. Ensure training and education with regards to systems, statutory appointments, hazard awareness, reporting and duty of care is delivered and captured. Manage 3 Safety Advisors who will directly report to you. Requirements The successful candidate will bring in to the role: Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret project-related documents, prepare reports and monitor compliance documentation. Ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including major clients. Proven experience with development, implementation, execution and continuous improvement of Health and Safety systems. Flexible in their approach to H&S and has the ability to work sensibly in the grey areas. Ideally 8 years of experience with infrastructures (roads and bridges), and maintenance. Ideally strong investigation and reporting – ICAM. Ideally good writing and reporting skills/experience. ISO 4001 knowledge which is the H&S standard. Desirable to federal safety experience – beneficial but not essential. Must be amenable for night shift H&S investigations.
