Description The Role We are looking for a Senior Manager- Safety, who will drive the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system to ensure a safe working environment. This role will lead a team of safety professionals, developing and implementing comprehensive HSE policies and management systems, and fostering a strong safety culture across our organisation. As the Senior Manager – Safety, you will work closely with our business units and leadership teams to mitigate risks, and drive initiatives that will enhance our safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of HSE professionals by providing guidance and performance management to build capability. Develop, implement and continuously improve Pacific Energy’s HSE strategy, policies, plans, procedures and management systems to align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements. Develop and execute HSE strategic initiatives and improvement plans to address systemic issues and drive innovation. Be the expert in providing advice to HSE personnel, line management and project teams on health, environment matters and emerging risks. Lead by example to foster a strong HSE culture across all levels of the organisation. Lead investigations into high potential incidents and near-misses, ensuring root causes are identified and lessons learned are shared organisation-wide Prepare detailed reports, analysis and insights for executive leadership and stakeholders on HSE performance and compliance About You: Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field Demonstrated expertise in applying current and contemporary safety theories, frameworks, and practices to drive a strong safety culture across operational contexts Demonstrated understanding of human and organisational performance principles and how to apply this to create a learning organisation. ICAM, TapRooT, Five Why’s or equivalent incident investigation certification.
