We are currently seeking an experienced Cook Why this role matters The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services). About the role We are seeking a values-driven Cook who will order food and supplies, maintain kitchen cleanliness, undertake cleaning task from the scheduled cleaning list, prepare and serve healthy dinners and prepare lunches for clients at Geelong Withdrawal Unit. You will successfully Plan, Prepare and Produce Nutrition Meals – Follow weekly menu, Prepare evening meals for up to 14 clients. Prepare next day lunch and ingredients. Organise daily cleaning of kitchen, pantry and scheduled cleaning tasks. Food Ordering – Assist administration staff in taking stock of supplies and ordering Cleaning – Ensure kitchen and pantry remains clean and tidy as per food safety standards. Ensure kitchen appliance temperature records are maintained. Performance and Development – Participation in TSA performance appraisal process and regular supervision. WHS – Comply with relevant Acts and Guidelines by identifying and reporting risks in the kitchen. Comply with safe work instructions. You will have Experience in planning and preparing meals in a residential community setting and menu constraints. Certificate III in hospitality, commercial cookery or relevant industry experience Food Handlers Certificate A valid working with Children’s Check This is a permanent, part-time (10hrs per week) role located in Corio, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.
