Full-time Quality Assurance Manager position available in Blackmans Point, NSW 2444 Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries is a thriving hydroponic farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW, specialising in premium tomatoes and strawberries grown in greenhouses using modern, sustainable methods. As a well-known agribusiness and local tourist attraction, they supply produce through farm gate sales, wholesale, and their in-house café. Maintaining the highest food safety and production standards is critical to their success. On behalf of the company, we are seeking for a full-time skilled Quality Assurance Manager to take charge of the entire farm’s quality, food safety, and compliance systems. Reporting directly to senior management, this role ensures both the operational excellence of their agricultural processes and compliance with national food safety standards. You will supervise growing, harvesting, post-harvest handling, and packing operations to make sure all activities meet quality benchmarks and legal obligations. You’ll also lead training, monitoring, and continuous improvement across the farm and processing teams. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Plan and manage quality assurance procedures across all stages of farm operations – from crop production to packing and distribution. Oversee the implementation of current food safety programs. Monitor growing conditions and implement preventative pest, hygiene, and contamination controls. Supervise and train workers on safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures. Conduct internal audits and prepare the farm for external certification inspections. Identify and resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions. Work with the greenhouse and picking teams to ensure the quality of tomatoes and strawberries is maintained at all times. Ensure compliance with Safe Food NSW and other regulatory authorities. Keep accurate records of production, inspections, and traceability systems. Contribute to strategic improvements in productivity, environmental sustainability, and food safety culture. Qualifications and Skills: At least a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Horticulture or a related discipline. One year of proven experience in a farm management, horticultural production, or food safety/quality role. Understanding of the responsibilities of a farm-based manager including scheduling, compliance, and staff supervision. Strong knowledge of food safety systems. Experience with greenhouse or hydroponic growing environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Practical understanding of farm operations and hands-on involvement. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $73,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
