About the role We are currently recruiting for a Senior Specialist Community Engagement to join the Customer and Corporate Affairs team. In this role, you will lead stakeholder engagement for large-scale projects, acting as a key liaison between Essential Energy and the community. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement strategies that reflect our values, promote transparency, and ensure community voices are heard throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans for major projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Monitor community sentiment and manage responses to issues and complaints. Collaborate with communications and First Nations engagement teams to ensure inclusive and effective messaging. Lead reporting on engagement activities and identify opportunities for improvement This role would ideally suit candidates based in Dubbo or Central Western NSW, and relocation could be considered for the right candidate. This role is a fixed term contract for 2 years. About You You are an experienced stakeholder engagement professional with a background in the electricity or infrastructure sector. You thrive in roles that require building trust, navigating complex community dynamics, and representing organisational interests with integrity and empathy. You’re passionate about giving voice to customers and communities, and you bring a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset to every project. Your ability to manage relationships, resolve issues, and contribute to a positive reputation for the organisation sets you apart. About your skills You’ll bring a strong mix of technical and interpersonal capabilities, including: Expertise in stakeholder engagement tools, processes, and reporting. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences. Strong analytical thinking and the ability to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Proven ability to manage complex relationships and influence stakeholder behaviours. Confidence working across teams, including communications and First Nations engagement.
