Job Description We are currently seeking a highly skilled Boilermaker Fabricator to join our growing team in Pakenham . This role will see you fabricating complex components from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium in a modern, well-equipped workshop, delivering high-quality results for defence and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Fabrication of various steel structures and pressure equipment using detailed engineering drawings and specifications Carry out pipe spooling fabrication – this is a must Welding and processing of mild steel , stainless steel , and aluminium Operate and maintain fabrication machinery, including pressing and rolling equipment Perform welding using GMAW (MIG) , GTAW (TIG) , and FCAW techniques Prepare and finish welded surfaces using grinders, cutters, and related tools Set up welding equipment according to weld procedure requirements Ensure welding meets X-ray and NDT standards, including AS3992 , Lloyds , and DNV specifications Maintain welding tools and equipment through regular cleaning, repairs, and part replacements Interpret technical drawings, plans, and blueprints accurately Work collaboratively with other trades and project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget Ensure all work is completed in line with workplace health and safety policies and procedures Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free workshop environment. What We’re Looking For Trade-qualified Boilermaker/Fabricator with proven experience in structural and pressure equipment fabrication Strong understanding and hands-on experience with pipe spooling Advanced welding abilities across MIG, TIG, and FCAW Ability to meet stringent quality inspection requirements including X-ray and non-destructive testing Familiarity with working to AS3992 , Lloyds , and DNV welding codes Experience operating pressing and rolling machines for mild and stainless steel Excellent attention to detail, quality-focused, and solution-oriented Strong team player with a safety-first mindset.
