Position Summary As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying finishes to a variety of internal and external surfaces in residential and commercial properties. You will work on both new construction and renovation projects, delivering high-standard painting work that meets client expectations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes and cracks, sanding, and cleaning Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, and finishing coats using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment Mix and match paint colours according to specifications Protect surrounding areas using drop cloths, masking tape, and other protective measures Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, scaffolding, ladders, etc. Maintain job site cleanliness and follow safe work practices at all times Collaborate with team members and report to the site supervisor or project manager Required Skills and Experience AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in painting or decorating Strong knowledge of surface prep, paint types, and application techniques Ability to work at heights and use access equipment safely Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety (WHS) practices Attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and commitment to deadlines Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Driver’s licence (preferred)
