About NAPCo The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of NAPCo's Low Carbon Beef Brand - Five Founders. Cungelella Station is located between Springsure and Tambo and south of Emerald near Carnarvon National Park. Cungelella Station, is a 21,870ha backgrounding property that handles approx 8000 head of cattle. The roles We are looking for a couple to join the crew at Cungelella in a permanent full-time position as a Machinery Operator/Handyman undertaking general maintenance on station. Duties will be varied including machinery operations, general station maintenance, maintaining waters and infrastructure. Machinery Operator / Handyman will ideally: Have previous experience undertaking general maintenance on property Be mechanically minded with experience with general vehicle servicing and checks Have good welding skills Ideally have a MR/HR Licence or similar Have experience operating machinery i.e. grader Grader road maintenance, fire breaks, erosion control Be able to flex across duties like fencing, checking waters, lick runs, and general maintenance tasks Be able to work in a team or on your own Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures The second position, Homestead Help/Gardener/Cook will maintain the gardens, domestic cleaning and cooking some meals for the crew. For this position, you will need to be organised, friendly, and most importantly, enjoy the outdoors and cooking hearty and nutritious meals. As the Homestead Help / Gardener your day-to-day duties will vary, including things similar to the below: Maintaining gardens, mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, mulching and pruning around the house, living quarters and broader property Ensuring the living quarters, recreational room and amenities are clean and tidy Maintaining the overall property appearance Changing linen and cleaning guest quarters, as required Cooking dinners for the crew (approx 6-8 people) Stores pickup when needed Ideally the successful candidate will: Have a flexible and agile mindset, with the ability to undertake varied station tasks Enjoy working autonomously with limited direction for some tasks, but also enjoy working with the Station Services Coordinator on other tasks you'll do together Have sound knowledge of gardening, cleaning, domestic functions and hygiene practices Be able to prioritise workloads Have some experience cooking for small groups Enjoy the unique lifestyle a remote cattle station offers Hold a current manual Drivers Licence Employee benefits Centrally located NAPCo station Full-time positions - competitive day rate, generous annual leave entitlements Positions can be permanent full-time or suit a travelling couple or grey nomads for a few months Meals and couples air-conditioned; self-contained accommodation provided (furnished) Pets maybe considered NAPCo stations have a great social environment and give all employees the chance to attend our annual Station Challenge, ad-hoc campdrafts, sports days, fishing, camping etc Pre-employment requirements Prior to commencement, all new employees are required to undertake an Australian National Police Check and are also required to be vaccinated against Q Fever (all associated costs covered by NAPCO).
