Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks. Key accountabilities for the position: Reporting into the Safety Lead you will be responsible for: Undertaking regular and systematic audits across multiple project sites, covering management systems, safe work procedures, behavioural safety and preventative measures, requiring you to undertake thorough risk assessments of and assess all tasks and activities. This also requires you to identify and coordinate sites to be audited via constant liaising and interaction with operations Undertake site safety walks, either with the client or management, ensuring close out (hands on) of all corrective actions Provide timely and expert HSEQ support, advice and assistance to all project and workshop personnel Carry out and provide support during incident investigations Help facilitate and have a consistent presence at pre-start meetings (a key safety preventative measure that requires robust and comprehensive risk assessment) and toolbox talks Flexibility & willingness to undertake working shifts on Saturdays, work through occupations and support night works as required Advise our Engineers on and assist them with the preparation of "Work Package" construction documentation, being: A fit for purpose Project Management Plan (PMP); Fit for purpose Construction Safety Procedures (that reference global SWMS' and PHRAs); Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS'); Plant Hazard Risk Assessments (PHRAs); and Related Quality documentation and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs); Required Skills and Competencies You will have a minimum of a certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, but further tertiary study highly regarded You will be able to confidently assess a range or risks and potential hazards and put together safe working plans in line with Acciona's systems and process Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stake holders Fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages, with proficiency in Excel and Project a must (proficiency in Primavera P6 an advantage) Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
