The Financial Systems Accountant will be responsible for leading and planning financial system reforms by understanding the key requirements to improve financial systems and broader business productivity while ensuring data integrity of financial systems is maintained effectively for the department. This will include resolving complex system issues and advising on strategic and a solution-focused approach to streamline and rationalise key financial systems. The role is a key conduit between the Finance division and Information and Communication Technology division (ICT). Report writing, development and production using data interrogation reporting tools (such as Excel or Power BI) to extract accurate and meaningful financial information is pivotal, as is assistance, leadership and guidance on projects and system upgrades to ensure contemporary financial systems are maintained. The role will require an understanding of business operations including the complex flow of data from numerous feeder systems and the linkages to central databases and servers of the department. Special Conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
