The Environment and Heritage Policy and Programs Division develops and coordinates the government’s environment, historic heritage and conservation policy, strategy, legislative frameworks and delivers key government strategic environment and conservation programs. The Division’s Heritage Branch leads on policy and programs delivered to administer the Queensland Heritage Act 1992.
The Project Support Officer, Heritage supports the broader work of the branch including proactively managing efficient workflow to ensure on-time delivery and advice on finance, human resources, and procurement. You will also support specific project work spanning a range of priorities including research, analysing data and corporate reporting.

The Division's Heritage Branch Leads On Policy And Programs Delivered To Administer The Queensland Heritage Act 1992
- Providing full secretariat and technical support to the 12-member Queensland Heritage Council.
- Managing the Queensland Heritage Register, including managing applications to have places entered in, or removed from, it.
- Managing the discovery of archaeological artefacts and underwater cultural heritage artefacts.
- Advising local government about identification and management of places of local cultural heritage significance.
- Regulating, in conjunction with other legislation, development affecting the cultural heritage significance of places on the Queensland Heritage Register.

Your Role Will Include
- Provide project and administrative support and advice across the branch.
- Liaise, consult and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the department to coordinate activities such as corporate reporting and resolve issues that arise.
- Prepare project plans to ensure activities happen in a timely manner and prioritise business operational needs.
- Research, collect, collate and provide feedback to the management team on business processes and improvement initiatives as directed.
- Identify, develop or modify procedures and processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of business administration and practices in areas of corporate reporting, human resources, procurement and finance.
- Use a range of applications including to enhance provision of administrative and project support including ministerial and executive correspondence
- Take responsibility for the progression of ad hoc projects and administrative outcomes as directed by the management team.
