Maintenance Carpenter

Loreto Community Housing manages over 3 000 social and affordable housing properties state-wide and are building many new properties in response to current need. However, we are about much more than bricks and mortar – our team combines construction and effective tenancy management with a strong commitment to tenant and community wellbeing.

We are seeking a full-time permanent carpenter, with a passion for providing high quality maintenance services, to join our team. This position is based in Bridgewater and will undertake maintenance within our social and affordable housing portfolio.

Your Role:

• Respond to carpentry maintenance work and complete tasks to highest standards.

• Work in a manner that ensures the safety of self and others.

• Be responsible for prioritising maintenance tasks within required timeframes.

• Ensure services are being delivered in a manner that demonstrates a respectful response.

Selection Criteria:

• Commitment to the vision, purpose and values of Loreto Community Housing and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.

• Minimum Certificate III in carpentry or equivalent.

• Previous experience in a maintenance trade role is highly desirable.

• Proven ability to maintain a customer service focus with people from different backgrounds.

• Excellent demonstrable carpentry skills, with proven experience in providing high quality and safe practice.

• A willingness to undertake the relevant employee screening process, including the provision of a National Police Criminal History check, a Working with Vulnerable People card and a pre-employment medical assessment.

• A current unrestricted Drivers Licence and a White Card
