Permanent Full Time | Helidon, SE Queensland Love food AND love kids? This one’s for you. We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for food who gets a kick out of sharing that passion with others — especially a mob of excited school kids at an outdoor adventure camp. This is not your average kitchen job. SO WHAT IS IT EXACTLY? You’ll be the heart of our Adventure Camp Kitchen — prepping, packing, and delivering meals for groups of students, then getting right in there and helping them cook it themselves. Think campfire energy, outdoor kitchen vibes, and a group of kids who are genuinely having the best day of their lives. You’ll have real autonomy to make this role your own. We are looking for someone who brings personality, initiative, and ideas to the table (literally). The basics: Permanent full-time, 40 hours per week Roughly 3 morning shifts (5.30am to 2pm) and 2 evening shifts per week (10.30am to 7pm) (roster varies by program) Based at our Adventure site in Helidon, SE Queensland WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? You’ll be connected to a seriously skilled catering team — we’re talking multiple qualified chefs who know their stuff and love what they do. You’ll be mentored by our Program Team, who will help you learn the ropes and pick up facilitation skills along the way. Translation: you’re not just cooking. You’re helping create “best camp ever” experiences for thousands of Australian kids. Oh, and the office? It’s outdoors. At an adventure camp. Just saying. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Honestly, you might be any of these people: A camp cook who’s ready to share their love of food with a new crew A chef or cook who wants to rediscover the joy of why they got into food in the first place Someone with a genuine passion for food and/or working with young people, who’s ready to learn and grow into something a bit different We can teach the skill. You bring the personality. What we really need is someone with: Warmth, energy, and a good sense of humor Great communication and client service — you’ll be working with schools and teachers, not just kids The kind of attitude that makes people feel welcome and at ease A genuine love of food and the pride that comes with doing it well ABOUT EMU GULLY We’re a not-for-profit adventure education organisation based in the beautiful Lockyer Valley, SE Queensland.
