Job Description The Safety Officer will assist in the development, implementation and review of health and safety strategies, systems, and plans and influence operational personnel to ensure best practice health and safety management outcomes. Roster This is a residential role based in Cobar, NSW working on site on a 7/7 rotational shift roster. Responsibilities Assist on maintaining site compliance with external requirements. Ensure site compliance with the Safety Management System through targeted field leadership activities.Review, develop and identify safe work systems.Support site access and security activities as required. Conduct Fitness for Work testing (including Alcohol, Other Drugs and Hydration testing, Fatigue assessments, etc.) as required.Prompt, correct and accurate reporting and response to Health and Safety hazards and incidents including injury treatment and management. Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders.Assist in the maintenance and development of a positive safety culture through the coordination and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives across the operation.Ensure work quality and quantity by ensuring efficient use of time and flexibility in work activities.Monitors Health, Safety and Emergency Response compliance through participation in audits, incident evaluation, reporting and follow up, regular inspections, maintenance, training and open discussions with operators and supervisors. Qualifications To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes: Current Advanced First Aid with Provide Pain Management. Experience in Alcohol and Other Drug Collection.Current manual driver’s licence.Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety.ICAM Lead Investigator experience (desirable)Experience with Learning Management Systems, Safety Management Systems or access control systems.Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to site operations.Demonstrated experience in administration, or support roles within an operational environment.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.High level computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.Proven ability to maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across multiple systems.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and processes.Ability to communicate clearly with workers, supervisors, contractors and visitors.
