We’re looking for a Consumer Insights Manager to lead and elevate our consumer insights program within our Marketing and Communications team. In this role, you’ll uncover what matters most to our audiences and use those insights to shape strategy, influence decision-making, and guide the direction of APL, our Marketing and Communications team, and the wider industry. It’s an exciting time to join, with planned investment in a new Usage and Attitudes study and a transition to updated advertising and brand tracking – giving you the opportunity to shape how we measure and understand our impact. This is a 12-month parental leave contract, with an anticipated start at the beginning of August 2026. Here's a snapshot of your day-to-day activities: Leading and delivering the consumer insights program, managing end-to-end research projects from design through to delivery; Analysing consumer, shopper, retail and market data to uncover meaningful insights and identify growth opportunities; Translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations that shape marketing strategy and industry direction; Collaborating with internal teams to support category planning and drive insight-led decision-making; Monitoring campaign performance and market trends to continuously refine strategies and improve outcomes; Communicating insights effectively through regular reporting and stakeholder engagement; and Living and breathing our APL values: One APL Team | Driving Results | Curious | Future-Focused About You To be standout for this role, you'll be able to tick the following boxes: A degree in marketing or a related field, ideally with specialisation in market research or consumer or shopper insights. 5 years prior experience in a similar role. Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate research into clear market-facing recommendations. Experience using specialist analysis software (Q/SPSS experience highly regarded). A results driven mindset, with the ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and deliver outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You'll also be someone who: Thrives in a collaborative, close-knit team. Brings a positive, can-do attitude to everything you do. Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. Contract Duration, Location and Hours This is a 12-month (depending on start date), full-time contract based in our Canberra office. Hybrid work options are available, offering a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work. Some travel will be required.
