We are seeking a Local Law Officer to join our Regulatory Services team. Reporting to the Team Leader Local Laws, you will help protect the safety, amenity and wellbeing of our community through education, compliance and enforcement. In this diverse, field-based role, you will investigate complaints, manage animal and parking matters, undertake patrols and inspections, issue infringement notices, prepare evidence for legal proceedings, and maintain accurate electronic records, all while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, local laws, policies and procedures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working outdoors, engaging with the community and making a positive difference through professional regulatory services. Investigate complaints and undertake compliance, enforcement and community education activities. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory activities. Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with Council's WHS requirements. Skills & Experience Physically fit and able to work outdoors in tropical conditions. Strong written communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Sound problem-solving, negotiation and customer service skills. Experience dealing with people and animal-related matters. Able to work independently and in a team, including participating in an after-hours on-call roster and community events.
