We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee a small but critical commercial cleaning portfolio in Townsville. This role will be responsible for managing 3 key sites with approximately 35 staff in total , ensuring service standards, contractual KPIs, client expectations, staff performance, WHS requirements and operational outcomes are consistently met. This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with strong commercial cleaning experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of important client sites. About the Role As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of cleaning operations across your portfolio. You will work closely with clients, site teams and internal management to ensure the sites are well presented, fully staffed, compliant and performing to agreed service levels. You will be expected to regularly attend sites, support and guide cleaning teams, resolve operational issues, monitor standards and ensure all contractual requirements are achieved. Key Responsibilities Manage cleaning operations across 3 key commercial sites in Townsville Lead, support and manage approximately 35 cleaning staff Ensure cleaning standards are consistently maintained across all sites Monitor and achieve contractual KPIs and service level requirements Conduct regular site inspections, audits and quality checks Liaise with clients and respond promptly to requests, concerns and feedback Manage rosters, attendance, leave coverage and site staffing requirements Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of site staff Ensure staff understand their duties, scopes of work and site expectations Manage cleaning supplies, equipment and consumables across the portfolio Identify and resolve service issues before they escalate Ensure compliance with WHS, safe work procedures and company policies Maintain accurate records, reports, communications and operational updates Build strong working relationships with both clients and cleaning teams About You To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience managing commercial cleaning operations and staff. You will understand the importance of presentation, reliability, communication and meeting client expectations in a high-profile environment. You will be confident managing cleaners, dealing with clients, working to KPIs and taking responsibility for site outcomes. Essential Requirements Previous experience in commercial cleaning management Strong understanding of site management and cleaning operations Experience managing cleaners across multiple sites or a large site environment Knowledge of contractual KPIs, service standards and client reporting Ability to lead, support and performance manage cleaning staff Strong attention to detail and quality standards Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage rosters, staffing gaps and operational priorities Current driver’s licence Ability to start within 2 weeks Highly Regarded Experience managing cleaning services in education, government, health, retail, facilities or large commercial environments Experience conducting audits, inspections and quality reporting Knowledge of WHS requirements, chemical handling and safe cleaning practices Experience working with cleaning systems, rosters, timesheets or reporting platforms What We Offer Competitive salary of $110,000 - $120,000 per annum superannuation Full-time management role based in Townsville Responsibility for a key operational portfolio Support from senior management and operational teams Opportunity to take ownership of important client sites Stable role with a growing commercial services business How to Apply Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your experience in commercial cleaning management, site management and staff supervision.
