We are looking for an experienced RTO Governance and Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen our quality and compliance function, provide senior oversight of audit-ready practice, and ensure our Registered Training Organisation continues to deliver strong outcomes for learners, clients, industry and regulators. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide leadership across RTO compliance, governance, quality assurance and organisational risk. You will manage the Quality Coordinator and work closely with trainers, assessors and the wider team to maintain consistent, evidence-based and audit-ready learning and assessment practices. About the Role As RTO Governance and Compliance Manager, you will lead the RTO governance, compliance and quality framework while providing oversight of organisational governance, risk and assurance systems. Your primary focus will be ensuring ongoing compliance with the Standards for RTOs, ASQA requirements and broader regulatory obligations, while supporting strong governance practices, risk management and continuous improvement across the organisation. You will play a key role in strengthening governance systems, monitoring compliance obligations, identifying and managing organisational risks, supporting informed decision making and driving continuous improvement across both the RTO and broader business operations. Key responsibilities include: RTO Governance, Compliance and Quality · Managing compliance with the Standards for RTOs, ASQA requirements and other regulatory, contractual and organisational obligations. · Leading audits, assurance activities and corrective actions to maintain audit readiness and continuous improvement. · Overseeing regulatory reporting, including AVETMISS, Quality Indicators and Annual Declaration requirements. · Reviewing and maintaining governance, operational and quality frameworks, policies and procedures to support practical improvement and regulatory alignment. · Overseeing and coordinating assessment validation, moderation, training product compliance and quality assurance activities. · Supporting trainers and assessors to implement best-practice training and assessment. · Using feedback, audit findings and performance data to identify risks, trends and improvement priorities. · Maintaining governance systems, risk and compliance registers, compliance calendars and evidence records. · Managing and supporting the Quality Coordinator while building productive relationships with regulators, funding bodies, clients and other stakeholders. · Preparing governance and compliance reports for the CEO and Leadership team, identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, processes and organisational performance. About You You are an experienced governance, compliance and quality professional who brings sound judgement, practical leadership and strong understanding of vocational education and organisational governance. You are highly organised, analytical, solutions-focused and confident working with senior leaders, trainers, assessors, clients and regulatory bodies, while also knowing how to delegate, guide and support day-to-day quality activity through a small team. Essential · Significant experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). · Strong knowledge of the Standards for RTOs, the VET Quality Framework, ASQA regulatory requirements and current reforms affecting the Australian VET sector. Demonstrated experience leading compliance, governance or quality assurance functions. · Experience overseeing ASQA audits, regulatory reporting, evidence requests, rectification activities and post-audit improvement actions. · Strong working knowledge of assessment validation, moderation, mapping, training product compliance and evidence requirements for nationally recognised training. · Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. · TAE qualification, compliance qualification or demonstrated equivalent expertise relevant to RTO quality, assessment and regulatory practice. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to use data, learner feedback, audit findings and system reports to identify trends, prioritise risks and guide practical improvement actions. · Previous leadership or people management experience, including the ability to guide and support a coordinator or small team. Ability to influence, coach and build capability across teams. Desirable · Experience using aXcelerate or another Student Management System to support enrolment, progression, completion, reporting, evidence management and compliance monitoring.
