It is a front-end definition role, not project management, construction supervision or contractor execution. The Role We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to provide specialist support in scope definition, technical writing and work pack development. You will translate engineering intent into clear contractor deliverables, ensuring scope boundaries, inclusions, exclusions, interfaces, assumptions, constraints, QA/QC requirements and acceptance criteria are properly defined before work proceeds to tender. You will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE and asset integrity stakeholders to ensure documentation is practical, complete and suitable for contractor pricing and execution. What You’ll Be Doing Developing clear, outcome-based scopes of work suitable for tenderingPreparing structured, execution-ready work packsReviewing drawings, specifications, records, inspection reports and supporting documentationIdentifying information gaps, assumptions, constraints and interfacesDefining scope boundaries, battery limits, inclusions and exclusionsTranslating engineering intent into clearly defined contractor deliverablesDefining QA/QC requirements, inspection points, hold points and acceptance criteriaDocumenting physical, functional and responsibility interfacesCompleting site walk-downs where required to validate assumptions and constraintsEngaging with engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE and asset integrity stakeholdersPreparing or referencing marked-up drawings, sketches, interface diagrams, asset registers and tag listsSupporting technical queries and clarifications during scope developmentIncorporating stakeholder feedback before documentation is issued for tenderEnsuring deliverables are suitable for document control systems and editable electronic formats What You’ll Bring Engineering qualification, with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferredStrong experience developing detailed scopes of workProven experience preparing structured work packsStrong technical writing and engineering documentation capabilityExperience translating engineering intent into contractor deliverablesUnderstanding of QA/QC requirements, inspection points, hold points and acceptance criteriaExperience working across multidisciplinary assets and systemsExposure to mechanical plant, pipework, tanks, vessels, containment, civil interfaces and electrical or instrumentation interfacesExperience in brownfield, live-plant or regulated operational environmentsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to clearly define responsibilities, assumptions, constraints and scope boundariesMust have the right to work in Australia About Us Maintenance Systems Solutions Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian company with offices throughout Australia and internationally.
