We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Energy Analyst to join our Strategy & Transformation team in our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney office on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Market Research & Analytics, you will play a key role in developing APA's market intelligence using forecasting and analytical capabilities to support strategic planning and investment decisions across our Gas Transmission & Storage, Contracted Power and Gas Powered Generation (GPG) assets. Working at the centre of Australia's evolving energy landscape, you will develop market models, forecast future market scenarios and generate strategic insights that help shape major growth opportunities, investment decisions and APA's long-term strategy. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain APA's in-house gas, electricity and commodity market forecasts, identifying market trends, risks and opportunities arising from the energy transition. Lead the development and enhancement of market models, including APA's electricity and WA gas market forecasting capability. Analyse complex datasets and market information to generate actionable insights that support strategic and commercial decision-making. Provide analytical support for business cases, growth opportunities and investment decisions across APA's asset portfolio. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure market outlooks reflect emerging developments, industry trends and policy changes. Contribute to Executive Leadership Team, Board and external stakeholder presentations by translating complex analysis into clear and compelling insights. Your Background Experience in energy markets, energy economics, market analysis or a related commercial discipline, ideally in infrastructure or utilities space. Strong quantitative and analytical capability, with experience developing market models, forecasts and scenario analysis to support strategic or investment decision-making. Knowledge of Australian energy markets, with exposure to gas and/or electricity markets. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data and market dynamics, translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Experience supporting investment cases, growth opportunities or strategic initiatives within energy, infrastructure, utilities or capital-intensive industries. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, commercial and corporate functions.
