About the Role This position involves ongoing work on various mine sites within North West Queensland, along with workshop-based work in Cloncurry. You will work on both surface and underground mining equipment, performing diagnostics, repairs, and electrical maintenance across a wide range of heavy machinery. Work Options Available • FIFO from Townsville or Cairns • DIDO from Mount Isa or surrounds (accommodation provided) • Residential Cloncurry (locals encouraged to apply) Multiple roster options may be available including: 8/6 7/7 2/1 or 2/2 rotating day/night shifts Key Responsibilities • Diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on electrical systems across heavy mobile plant and mining equipment • Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical issues using OEM diagnostic tools • Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical wiring, components, and systems • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams • Assisting with equipment demobilisation and mobilisation projects across mine sites • Maintaining service records and job documentation • Working safely in accordance with site and company procedures • Performing work both on-site and within the workshop when required Essential Requirements • Trade qualification as an Automotive Electrician • Current manual driver’s licence • Ability to pass a mine site medical including drug and alcohol screening • Ability to work rotating rosters and shift work • Ability to read and interpret auto electrical schematics • Air Conditioning Licence and Refrigerant Handling Licence • Strong commitment to workplace safety • Ability to work independently and within a team • Strong time management and organisational skills Desirable Skills • Experience with Caterpillar, Sandvik and/or Hitachi equipment • Mining or heavy earthmoving maintenance experience What We Offer • Competitive hourly rates based on experience • Stable, ongoing work with a growing company • Variety of mine site and workshop work • Supportive and team-focused work environment • Career growth opportunities • Flexible work arrangements with multiple roster options Make the Move to Mining This is a great opportunity for candidates from agricultural, heavy vehicle, or construction equipment backgrounds looking to transition into the mining industry.
