Senior Project Manager - Applications We're seeking an experienced Senior Applications Project Manager to lead a portfolio of strategic application and digital transformation initiatives within a leading Australian university.This role will oversee several high-profile projects focused on enhancing the student experience and modernising key digital platforms, including the Student Moments Platform, Enterprise Web Modernisation, and Timetabling Discovery Phase. Working across business and technology teams, you will drive delivery outcomes, manage complex stakeholder environments, and ensure initiatives align with the university's broader digital transformation strategy.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in complex enterprise environments, enjoys managing multiple concurrent initiatives, and has experience delivering application-focused projects within large, highly governed organisations. WHAT’S ON OFFER • Initial 6-month contract• $1025 per day inclusive of super• Hybrid working – Perth based THE ROLE: You will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic projects designed to enhance the student journey, modernise digital experiences, and support key operational capabilities across the university.The portfolio currently includes: • Student Moments Platform• Enterprise Web Modernisation• Timetabling Discovery Phase Working across both business and technology stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to strategic objectives while navigating a complex governance environment. Key responsibilities include: • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple application and digital transformation projects• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes• Coordinate delivery across business units, technology teams, vendors, and external partners• Drive stakeholder engagement across student services, academic, operational, and technology functions• Facilitate project governance forums, Steering Committees, and executive reporting activities• Manage project financials, forecasting, and budget tracking requirements• Ensure initiatives align with enterprise architecture, application strategies, and digital roadmaps• Support discovery, planning, mobilisation, and transition-to-delivery activities• Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, and interdependencies• Drive Agile and hybrid delivery practices to ensure successful project outcomes• Provide clear communication, reporting, and updates to senior leadership and project sponsors• Foster strong collaboration between business and technology teams to achieve delivery objectives THE COMPANY: A leading Australian university with a strong reputation for innovation, research, and delivering world-class education across undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational, and online programs.With a large and diverse digital ecosystem, the university is undertaking a significant transformation of its web and content management platforms to enhance student experience, operational efficiency, and digital engagement at scale. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Applications Project Manager within complex enterprise environments• Strong background delivering enterprise application, business systems, or digital transformation projects• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities• Strong understanding of Agile, Hybrid, and traditional project delivery methodologies• Experience managing project budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting activities• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives and business leaders• Experience facilitating governance forums, Steering Committees, and executive reporting processes• Strong vendor and third-party supplier management experience• Proven ability to manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery challenges• Experience working within higher education, government, or similarly regulated environments will be highly regarded• Experience with project delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar Please note: You must have Full Working Rights in Australia and be based in Perth or willing to work in a hybrid arrangement.
