About the position As an Assistant Retail Manager, you’re more than just the right hand to the director, you’re the heart and soul of the daily grind. As an Assistant Retail Manager, the role involves supporting the planning, coordination, and control of daily retail operations to ensure efficient service delivery, compliance with organizational policies, and achievement of business objectives. Key duties and responsibilities include: Determining product mix, monitoring and maintaining optimal stock levels, and ensuring consistent service standards are achieved in line with business requirements Assisting in the development, implementation, and review of purchasing, pricing, sales, and marketing strategies to maximise profitability and market competitiveness Promoting and advertising the establishment’s goods and services through in-store activities and customer engagement initiatives to increase sales and brand awareness Selling goods and services to customers, providing accurate product information, and delivering high levels of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention Monitoring sales performance, customer demand, and inventory movement, and reporting operational outcomes to senior management Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of stock levels, inventory movements, sales transactions, and financial data in accordance with organizational procedures Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, including tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting financial targets Supervising, training, and supporting retail staff, including assisting with recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and performance management to ensure an efficient and productive workforce Allocating duties and coordinating staff activities to ensure effective workflow, service efficiency, and achievement of daily operational targets Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS), food safety (where applicable), hygiene standards, and workplace policies and procedures Handling customer complaints and operational issues in a timely manner and implementing corrective actions to maintain service quality Supporting store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, reconciliation, and security compliance Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement and availability of stock and resources Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall business performance. Skills and Qualification Requirements Graduate Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field At least 1-2 year of experience in retail management within a fast-paced environment Strong passion for quality food and delivering memorable customer experiences Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and coach team members effectively Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced operational environment Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required If you believe your skills and experience align with our requirements, we would love to hear from you.
