Advanced Specialised Builders are one of Perth’s market leaders in the insurance building industry. Operating for over 15 years, we are your local building expert for claims and repairs to properties damaged through insurable events such as storm, flood, fire, impact, or malicious damage. We ensure that every project is handled with the utmost care, from inception through to completion. We are looking for a Building Inspector / Assessor to join our team. If you are customer-focused, have worked in the construction industry related to repair and/or restoration and have experience with home and building insurance claims, then we’d love to hear from you! About The Role: With a strong preference for someone based in Perth's southern suburbs, you'll primarily be on the road carrying out inspections and assessments and working remotely from home with full autonomy. You’ll be able to plan and manage your own workdays and are required to help with the following duties: Coordinating visits to properties with insured parties and carrying out inspections to determine the cause of damage to claimants’ properties, and determining policy coverage in accordance with our client policies for insurable events Writing building assessment reports, and detailing / estimating scopes of repair works (at times, engaging our subcontractors for quotations) to remediate and repair any damages Liaising with our internal team to book specialist trade investigations as required Ensuring repair works conform to legislative OH&S requirements and ensuring proper construction techniques and standards are being applied to offer warrantable repairs Responding to queries from our clients as required This role involves working closely with our internal claims & repair team as well as our customers, clients and our trade network. About You: To be a success in this position, you’ll be able to demonstrate: Trade qualifications preferred, or previous experience in residential construction Exposure to the Insurance industry with home insurance repairs and restoration is preferred, but not essential Good computer literacy and the ability to develop written insurance reports (templates provided), scopes of work and pricing estimates for building repairs related to damage caused by insurable events, with a strong attention to detail Strong communication skills and a friendly telephone manner to maintain relationships with our insurers, trades, suppliers and colleagues with the ability to be empathetic to the needs of claimants at their time of need and distress Punctuality, with good organisation and time management skills and the ability to adhere to the service level agreements and KPI's established by our clients The ability to work autonomously and remotely or from home Full Australian working rights and a valid WA driver’s licence If you’ve been on the tools and it’s getting harder on the body, are fed up with trying to win your own work, or you are looking for more autonomy and can offer your experience to a wide range of building claims, you’ll progress on the job with the support of our dedicated and experienced team!
