About the Role We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician/Mechanical Fitter with valve and machining experience to join Score’s Workshop Team. This role is ideal for someone who shares our passion and drive for excellence and success. Location: Darwin, NT Hours: Our workshop hours are between 7.00am to 4.00pm (overtime and occasional Site work available based on operational requirements/client needs). You will play a key role in valve overhaul, testing, and recertification activities while working with a supportive team in a global organisation committed to excellence. Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Darwin with full work rights in Australia. However, sponsorship opportunities may be considered for suitable applicants who meet Australian visa requirements, including a relevant trade qualification, positive skills assessment, minimum industry experience, and required English language test scores. Key Responsibilities Perform PSV overhauls and recertification. Strip, assess, rebuild, and prepare detailed inspection reports for various valve types including Ball, Globe, Gate, Choke, Check, Butterfly, Control, and Safety valves. Disassemble, overhaul, test, and certify valves and associated equipment. Conduct fault finding and problem solving. Ensure compliance with company and client documentation requirements. Support and train junior technicians where required. Ensure all work meets NATA and ISO 9001 standards. Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality at all times. Uphold Score’s company values. Technical Skillset Precision measurement and machining (milling, drilling, lathe operation). Selection and use of appropriate tooling and equipment. Correct selection and use of measuring equipment Ability to interpret and markup engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with process plant maintenance activities. Qualifications and Experience Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline (Cert III in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent). Minimum 2 years’ experience in oil & gas, mining, or valve-related industries (Preferred). Competency in high-pressure testing equipment and measuring devices. Strong knowledge of manual, actuated, control, and relief valves. Forklift licence (Preferred). Full work rights in Australia at time of application (Preferred). Behavioural Skillset Strong communication and teamwork skills. Critical thinking and analytical ability. Hands-on approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Flexible and committed to continuous improvement. Willingness to work overtime and night shifts when required. Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Why Score?
