About The Role Key responsibilities of speech pathologists in local education office teams may include: Conduct and interpret comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language and communication needs Identify and apply evidence-based interventions, either individual, small group or whole class or site, supporting learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people Deliver professional development and/or coaching to educators Partner with site leadership to implement a multi-tiered approach that proactively supports and strengthens children's speaking, listening, literacy, and communication skills for optimal development. Liaise and collaborate with other professionals, agencies and families to deliver holistic services Contribute to research, service development and ongoing evaluation of services. About You As well as being a passionate speech pathologist, you will have: Current driver’s licence Demonstrated experience and/or transferrable skills and knowledge in working with children and young people with a range of needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to culturally responsive practice Commitment to continuous professional development. Qualifications Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership to Speech Pathology Australia. Desirable: Current Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status. Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. Remuneration We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and career advancement AHP1: $74,230 to $86,938 per annum (1.0 FTE) superannuation (12%) leave loading and applicable allowances. AHP2: $91,785 - $106,330 per annum (1.0 FTE) superannuation (12%) leave loading and applicable allowances. In addition, employees are eligible for salary sacrificing to buy a car or a laptop (salary packaging), or to contribute to superannuation. There is a possibility of financial support of an attraction and retention allowance of up to 20% of the relevant base salary and/or relocation support in country locations for the right candidate.
