The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining our high-quality standards, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, and supporting our continued business growth. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will be required to carry out all duties associated with the position of a Cook in an efficient and professional manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing and cooking a range of dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu. Ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes by following standard recipes and plating guidelines. Performing daily kitchen preparation (mise-en-place) to ensure smooth service during operational hours. Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality output at all times. Checking the quality of raw ingredients including meats, seafood, vegetables, and dairy products before use. Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens and stovetops while maintaining correct cooking temperatures. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment in line with food safety standards. Adhering to HACCP guidelines, including proper storage, labelling, and handling of food items. Preventing cross-contamination by ensuring proper separation and storage of raw and cooked food items. Managing stock rotation and assisting in monitoring inventory levels to ensure availability of fresh ingredients. Assisting with receiving deliveries and storing goods in compliance with food safety requirements. Supporting menu development by contributing ideas for new dishes and seasonal menu variations. Training and assisting junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food preparation and kitchen procedures. Ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining performance during busy service periods. Personal & Professional Attributes Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery. Minimum one year of relevant experience in a similar role. Positive attitude with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
