For more information on us, please visit www.msa.qld.edu.au ABOUT THE ROLE: Mastery Schools Australia is seeking a team focused and motivated Occupational Therapist to work across our Southport, Varsity Lakes, and Coolangatta campuses, supporting students in Years 4–10 to thrive in their learning environment. This is a unique hybrid role combining: School-based occupational therapy service delivery Clinical supervision and coordination of university student placements You will work as part of a growing Allied Health Team , under the leadership of the Executive Teacher – Allied Health , while also playing a key role in developing the next generation of Occupational Therapists. Note- A significant part of the role is dedicated to the supervision of university placements from Bond University’s Master of Occupational Therapy when students are on placement. Student-Focused Occupational Therapy Deliver evidence-informed occupational therapy services to students across Years 4–10 Support students as required through tailored interventions Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to implement student focused support Conduct functional assessments and develop targeted intervention plans as required Provide consultation to staff and families to build capacity within the school environment Contribute to student wellbeing, engagement, and support the MSA way Maintain documentation, reports, and progress monitoring as per MSA guidelines. 2. Clinical Placement Leadership Coordinate and oversee Occupational Therapy student placements in line with the partnership agreement with Bond University and other partner Universities. Provide direct clinical supervision, mentoring, and feedback to Masters-level OT students Support student development in assessment, intervention and professional practice Manage placement logistics, onboarding, and performance reviews Ensure student experiences meet agreed placement requirements (e.g. placement hours, supervision quality) and manage and support students potentially ‘At Risk’ on placement. Liaise with Bond University staff regarding student progress and program delivery Contribute to continuous improvement of the placement program 3. Team & Program Contribution Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary allied health team Contribute to service design, quality improvement, and innovation initiatives Support a positive, professional and growth-oriented team culture Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice Leading Professional Development for all Mastery School sites as per the direction and guidance of Executive Teacher - Allied Health. This may involve travel to Brisbane and interstate. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Essential Degree in Occupational Therapy Registration as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Blue Card or ability to obtain one and working with children check as well as Police checks Demonstrated experience working as an Occupational Therapist for a minimum of 3 years Strong ability to work collaboratively with educators and multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills Highly Regarded Experience supervising students or early-career clinicians Experience in school-based or paediatric occupational therapy Confidence working across multiple sites and managing a varied caseload Interest in clinical education, teaching, or workforce development Experience working with children or adolescents (school or community setting desirable) Reporting & Structure Reports to: Executive Teacher – Allied Health (MSA) Works in partnership with: Bond University – Occupational Therapy Program Embedded within: MSA Allied Health Team Additional Information This is a 12-month contract role , with strong potential for extension The role is funded through a joint partnership model (MSA Bond University) Travel between campuses (Southport, Varsity Lakes, Coolangatta) is required Apply Now If you are an Occupational Therapist looking to: Make a meaningful difference in schools , and Develop experience in clinical supervision and leadership , we’d love to hear from you.
