This hands-on role involves operating excavators, loaders, and high-speed processing equipment including grinders, trommels, screens, and shredders to support the safe, efficient, and productive processing of green waste and organic materials. You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and associated processing equipment to support site operations safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities Operating 20t–30t excavators using buckets, grabs, and attachments Operating 20t–30t front-end loaders Screening soils and materials across the facility Operating and maintaining trommel screens, screening plants, shredders and grinding plant Turning and managing bulk stockpiles Loading products into hoppers and processing equipment Feeding and monitoring screening and processing equipment Carrying out daily equipment pre-start checks and inspections Following lock out / tag out procedures Completing daily Take 5 risk assessments Maintaining plant and equipment to a high operational standard Supporting a safe, clean, and productive work environment About You Demonstrated experience operating excavators and front-end loaders – essential Minimum 2 years’ experience operating 20t–30t excavators with buckets, grabs, and attachments Experience operating 20t–30t front-end loaders Experience operating trommel screens, screeners, shredders and/or grinding plant highly regarded Experience in soil screening, material processing or similar production environments highly regarded Ability to complete pre-start forms and required operational documentation Strong understanding of lock out / tag out procedures Commitment to daily safety processes including Take 5 assessments Strong awareness of workplace health and safety Ability to work independently and within a team environment Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach to work Team Values Respect company policies, procedures, and fellow team members Maintain a high standard of work and strive for continuous improvement Safety focused in all aspects of work Have regard for customer satisfaction Act in a genuine, honest, and responsible manner Be flexible and adaptable to operational requirements
