We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sales Consultant who enjoys helping people and wants to be part of building something exciting from the ground up. About the Role This is more than just a retail sales position. You’ll be one of the key faces of our Hendon Display Centre, assisting both retail and trade customers with their landscaping projects while helping grow and shape the future of the site. This is a unique opportunity to become part of the foundation team of our newest Display Centre and play a genuine role in its long-term success. We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships, and identifying opportunities to continually improve the customer experience while contributing to the ongoing growth of the business. You’ll be helping customers choose the right products, answering phone enquiries, processing sales, placing orders, organising deliveries and working closely with our Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager to identify opportunities that continue to grow the Display Centre. This is a hands-on role, so you’ll also assist customers with loading 20kg bagged products and other landscaping materials into their vehicles when required. Key Responsibilities Welcome and assist retail and trade customers in a friendly and professional manner. Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with product enquiries, pricing, orders and delivery bookings. Provide advice on landscaping products including gravels, soils, sands, mulches, paving, irrigation, lawn care products, garden accessories and much more. Process sales using our point-of-sale system, including cash, EFTPOS and account sales. Prepare customer quotes, place orders and organise deliveries. Assist customers with loading 20kg bagged products and other landscaping materials into their vehicles. Maintain attractive product displays and ensure the Display Centre is clean, tidy and well presented. Assist with merchandising, stock presentation and general housekeeping. Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager to identify opportunities to improve and grow the Display Centre. Deliver exceptional customer service and build lasting relationships with retail and trade customers. Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, product presentation and sales within the Display Centre. Assist customers in finding the right products and solutions for their landscaping projects, ensuring they leave with confidence in their purchase. Assist with other general duties as required. About You We’re not expecting you to be a landscaping expert, we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in landscaping, gardening or outdoor living who is eager to learn. Full product training will be provided. To be successful in this role you’ll have: A passion for providing outstanding customer service. A genuine interest in landscaping, gardening, irrigation or outdoor living. Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not essential). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Confidence using computers and learning new systems. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. A current driver’s licence. The ability to undertake physical work, including safely lifting and loading 20kg bagged products and other landscaping materials. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. The initiative to identify opportunities, solve problems and contribute ideas that support the continued growth and success of the Display Centre. Availability to work Saturdays as the Display Centre expands its trading hours. Desirable but not essential: Previous experience or knowledge in landscaping, irrigation, hardware, garden supplies, outdoor living products or the building industry will be highly regarded but is not essential. Hours of Work Current trading hours are: Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm The Hendon Display Centre is expected to introduce Saturday trading in the near future, so flexibility to work weekends is essential.
