Specific Responsibilities: Hands-on, physical transport work operating out of our Townsville operation. You'll be: • Operating HC combinations safely and to schedule • Performing Client direct deliveries to designated location around Townsville and surrounding areas • Operate Prime Movers and other vehicles and equipment efficiently and safely • Bulk cargo loading, restraining freight — this is a physically demanding role • Completing pre-starts, load restraint checks and daily paperwork • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, fatigue management, heavy vehicle operating guidelines, loading requirements, axle weights and vehicle specific permits • Maintain the condition of vehicles and plant under your care Qualification and Experience: • Current Heavy Combination (HC) licence is essential • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment • Genuine reliability — this is a year-round pool and we roster on people we can count on • Physical capability to meet the inherent demands of the role: repetitive manual handling, load restraint, and climbing in and out of the cab and trailer throughout the shift • Ability to work effectively within a small team • Sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen Desirable • Forklift (LF) licence and sideloader operating experience • Load restraint exposure Why NSS • Funded MC licence pathway for drivers who show up and perform • Consistent year-round work for reliable operators • Professional, safety-first team and a well-maintained fleet • An established North Queensland operator where good drivers get noticed
