Job Title: Animal Attendant at Boarding Kennel We are looking for a passionate and dedicated animal lover to join our team as an animal attendant at our busy boarding kennel. If you enjoy spending time with dogs and cats, this is the perfect job for you. Bark Avenue is a very different Pet Resort where the focus is on the guests having a low stress and fun stay. All guests get out for group plays with the staff, 4 times a day in our large play areas and paddocks for a total of around 3 & ½ hours. Every guest room has reverse- cycle air-conditioning to maximize the comfort of the guests. Responsibilities: Provide excellent care for all animals in our pet resort Feed and water animals according to their schedule and dietary requirements Clean and sanitize animal enclosures on a regular basis Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to management Administer medication to animals as directed by their owners or veterinarians Interact and play with dogs and cats to provide them with plenty of exercise and attention Groom animals as needed, such as brushing and bathing Maintain accurate records of all animal care activities Qualifications: The position is full time. Previous kennel experience an advantage Must have dog handling experience beyond that of just a family pet We encourage mature aged applicants Passion for working with dogs and cats Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, such as bags of food and litter bags Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays Work starts at 7am and finishes at 5pm. Staff are rostered 8 days in a fortnight and every second weekend (both the Saturday and Sunday of that weekend).
