About New Porgera New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production, and over the last 30 years of life of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea’s total annual exports. About the role We're seeking experienced Underground Long Hole Production Drillers to join our team at the Porgera Gold Mine, one of the world's most unique and challenging underground mining operations. In this role you will safely and efficiently operate Epiroc Simba long hole production drill rigs while drilling production rings in accordance with the mine plan. The successful candidate will conduct thorough pre-start inspections, identify and report equipment defects, and work collaboratively with the Maintenance, Technical Services and Operations teams to maximise productivity and maintain high safety standards in a dynamic underground environment. The role is based at an underground operation in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea, where mining is primarily undertaken using conventional underground long hole stoping, with some transverse bulk stoping. This is a technically challenging operation that places a strong emphasis on safe, efficient production and operational excellence. About you Successful candidates will have proven experience operating underground long hole production drill rigs, with experience on Epiroc Simba drills highly regarded. You will be a self-motivated operator who can work through challenges, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain productivity in a demanding underground environment. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and equipment care is essential, along with the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively within a diverse and multicultural workforce.
