About the role We are excited to expand our team and are looking for an experienced Field Technician Team Leader to take on a leadership role. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise field teams (2–12 staff), ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to required quality standards Communicate and oversee all scope of work requirements, ensuring effective execution in the field Monitor daily progress and report updates or escalate issues to the direct line manager Coordinate and support planting crews during peak periods, including planning and delivery of planting activities Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with SH&E policies, SHEWMS, pre-starts and PPE requirements Monitor team performance and behaviour, providing guidance, training and support as required Maintain fleet, equipment and assets to a high standard, including cleanliness, correct usage and defect reporting Uphold professional communication and relationships with clients Foster a positive team environment and strong work ethic Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Undertake and oversee operational activities including weed control (herbicide application), native plant and tree planting, seeding and revegetation works Perform general landscaping and maintenance tasks, including mowing, whipper snipping, brush cutting, pruning and hardscape maintenance Essential Criteria: Full working rights in Australia Current driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle Proven experience as a Team Leader or in a senior field-based role Minimum 2 years’ experience in the environmental industry Demonstrated experience in landscaping, planting and/or weed control Strong understanding of field operations, safety practices and compliance requirements Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks and manage workloads effectively Well-developed communication, organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team Competency in operating vehicles, trailers and relevant field equipment Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual outdoor work Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic Willingness and ability to work in regional areas (accommodation provided) Knowledge of common Perth weed species and native plant identification Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening Current (or willingness to obtain/renew) Pest Management Technician Licence Desirable: White Card (Construction Induction) Chainsaw operation and maintenance certification Current First Aid and CPR certificate Relevant chemical handling certification, including the following units: AHCPMG301 – Control Weeds AHCCHM307 – Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pests, Weeds and Diseases AHCCHM304 – Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals (These units are typically included in Certificate III qualifications in Horticulture, Conservation & Ecosystem Management, Pest Management or Weed Management.)
